Whitehaven is a remote town in a dramatic landscape setting on the fringes of the Lake District. It has a fascinating history of planned urban expansion, and has significant merit as being a fine example of Georgian town planning.

Landscape Projects was commissioned to produce a Public Realm Appraisal for Whitehaven Town Centre Conservation Area, to provide guidance on conservation and managed to support the special characteristics of Whitehaven Town Centre. This Public realm strategy was part of a suite of heritage and design documents prepared for Whitehaven by Paul Butler Associates, OMI Architects and Landscape Projects.
