Landscape Projects masterplanned and designed the public realm and precinct around the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King in Liverpool.
The phased project saw the implementation of a new concourse and steps, which completed the cathedral's architect, Frederick Gibberd's vision of a connection to Hope Street and the Anglican cathedral beyond.
The concourse is overlooked by a new Visitor Centre designed by Falconer Chester Hall architects, on which is a roof garden for quiet contemplation, incorporating artwork and providing easy access for all onto the high cathedral podium.
The project involved extensive consultation with advisory bodies as diverse as CABE, 20th Century Society, Liverpool Art and Design Trust and The Historic Churches Commission, for approvals to the works in the grounds of this Grade 1 listed building.
